Air powered car – alternative green transport

Guy Negre, a French engineer who used to work at Renault, has spent the last 13 years developing a compressed air car or aircar with his company MDI.

This is a much better green technology than hybrid with those nasty huge batteries or hydrogen – and is also a simple established technology.

Air France and KLM begin a 6 month trial in May 2009, using them on airports.

If used with renewable electricity for the compression pump, is all fine and dandy. Who needs biofuel which is disastrous for the environment where it is grown?
