Serpentine Pavillion Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA

Serpentine Gallery Pavilion - Not that great as a cafe if the wind blows

Serpentine Gallery Pavilion extended mirrored aluminium roof

Serpentine Gallery Pavilion reflection
Visited the Serpentine in Hyde Park London today, the Pavilion is worth a visit. Basically a mirrored outdoor roof supported by long poles, there is also an extended roof that flows down to the ground, or near it, resembling an airplane wing. Very shiny mirrored surface which makes for circus trick mirror effects. It is made of aluminium and flows around the site ‘like smoke’ they say, reflecting the trees and people, and changing with the elements.
It is up until 18 October 2009.
