Serpentine Gallery Pavilion, Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa SANAA
Serpentine Pavilion 2009 designed by Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA.
It has a mirrored roof supported by long poles, also a side bit has an extended roof flowing down near the ground, see the image here.
Aluminuim roofing is highly
polished and makes for trick mirror effects which are popular.
As with Frank Gehry's Pavilion 2008, these are populist structures - crowd pleasers - that work very
well in public spaces.
What a great addition to London. Hyde Park is a wonderful place, you can even take the kids to the Diana Memorial, a water feature that kids (and adults) love to splash - in pics on
soon.
