Regulatory navigation UK:
Plumbers are often only called when there is an emergency. This is not a good way to select a plumber, as you will take the first one that can turn up.
If you don't know a plumber from a previous job such as bathroom refit, ask friends, as a personal recommendation is valuable.
Things to ask a plumber before you employ them for emergency or repair work:
General questions:
You might also ask for references and general information like do they have an office or web site. Small plumbing companies might be a couple of guys and a van; larger plumbers will have a properly organised office with admin staff etc.
The GAS SAFE REGISTER replaced the CORGI gas register in Great Britain and the Isle of Man on 1 April 2009. Any work on yourt Gas or boilers, ask to see their Gas Safe Register ID card. A Corgi one is out of date and not safe.
